The Imperfect Church

The Corinthian church struggled to connect faith with daily life. That led to issues within the church concerning division, unity, worship, and a host of other issues. Modern church face the same issues, and Paul’s instruction to them is just as valuable to use.

The Imperfect Church

The unknown can be intimidating. We want you to know what you can expect when you visit us.

There is no dress code. You will find a wide range of apparel in our worship service. Some dress up. Most do not. Typically, you will find us dressed in casual attire.

We offer Bible classes for children and adults. Discussion and questions are welcomed and encouraged but verbal participation is optional. We will not make you feel uncomfortable or ask you to speak or comment. Bible classes last for about 45 minutes.

During worship, we engage in congregational singing. All of the participants are encouraged to lift up their voices and sing. We don’t care if you are on-key or off-key. It is important that you worship God with your voice. We choose not to use instruments in our worship.

We set aside a time to observe the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, every Sunday. Someone will usually share a thought and offer prayers for the bread and grape juice.

Communion is a time specifically designed to honor the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It is also a time to remember Jesus’ sacrifice for our sin and to renew our commitment to discipleship.

After Communion, we dismiss the children from 3 years old to 2nd grade to Children’s worship. We will make an announcement and dismiss the children with a song. Don’t worry. You won’t miss it.

A lesson will be preached from God’s Word. At the close of the lesson, we have an invitation song to allow an opportunity for someone to dedicate their life to Christ, renew their commitment to Christ or request prayers.

Afterwards, we will close with announcements, a prayer, and a song.

We are a friendly church so someone will probably greet you or speak to you. They may even ask a few questions. We want to get to know you, but we will try our best not to make you feel uncomfortable. We look forward to meeting you!
